Founded in DATE? here at New Brighton Seido Karate, we are proud to be a family-focused club where families can train together. We are a not-for-profit organization with affordable fees used to cover the cost of our hall rental and equipment as needed. We currently have students ranging from 6 to 83 years of age. You are never too young or too old to begin training and there is no set fitness level to begin your journey.
At New Brighton Seido Karate, everyone is encouraged to realize their own individual potential. For those seeking competition with others, they will find it, but the real competition is within yourself. Self-awareness is the key factor throughout your training in Seido. Whilst karate is an excellent means of physical conditioning, the real purpose is the cultivation of character so that the students function with wholeness and balance in society.
Even if you are unfit, you can safely begin your journey with skilled trained instructors who will guide and encourage you to reach your goals at your own pace. You will also gain a high level of motivation from the wider Seido family in the dojo who provide support and confidence to achieve your goals. Seido (Sincere Way) is also a fun and enjoyable way for you, and your family to learn a martial art and self-defense that includes people with all levels of ability and intensity whether you are casual or competitive.
Seido Karate is one of the most effective and efficient forms of self-defence. Students learn to use the entire body as a weapon, developing the ability to defend themselves against much larger and stronger assailants. Accordingly, each person grows in confidence and develops an awareness of how to avoid confrontation.
Every journey starts with your first step. You are welcome to come along and attend our 10-free introduction classes. In these classes, you will learn the basics of Seido Karate and get a taste of we teach as well as get to know our Seido family. These classes are non-obligational, and you can come along as many times as you wish during the week to these classes.
Beginners’ classes are held each evening on Mondays to Thursdays from 5:30pm and are held for 1 hour per class. You can contact us on the following email to begin your journey:
